Adopted! Beau was sitting on the side of the road after he was hit by a car. he couldn't walk, but he was still giving kisses and wagging his tail. His right hip was broken and his left femur was broken. He had major surgery on both hind legs. His final recovery was heartworm treatment! He succeeded!

ADOPTED!
Medical Case: Achilles was in an unknown accident and broke his tail. His owner was trying to sell tamales to pay for much needed surgery. We helped Achilles to get his surgery. He now has no tail, but he is thriving! He was also neutered, microchipped and is now an indoor only cat!
ADOPTED! Shiner was born into a horrible environment and his mama died immediately after he was born. An amazing rescuer bottle fed him and his 2 sisters. We found him an amazing furever home and he keeps his fur brother busy!
ADOPTED! Dolly was found on the side of the road, barely alive! Her story touched so many and her foster family adopted her!
Adopted TOGETHER! An adorable bonded pair of female Siberian Huskies. They were running scared & stray in Houston. They were heavily matted, skinny & were treated for fleas, ticks & hookworms. They had been eating roots & acorns for food. They were completely untrained. They have come a long way in four months with structure and good nutrition. They are still a hot mess, but they found a wonderful family that loves them as much as we do!
ADOPTED! Chuck was severely neglected before he was dumped in a neighborhood. He was only a puppy, but looked like an old man. He was heartworm + and had a broken spirit. He was in boarding for months - all alone. Finally, his hero was found!
9 dogs were dumped on a country road in Crosby, Texas and were fighting to stay alive and hunted by coyotes!
The first dog that opened our eyes to the dog crises in Texas. Poppy would have died in a matter of days if not saved. It was a long road, but her story is amazing.
Adopted! Biggie was named because...well...he was not neutered and that was a priority! Dumped in a NE Houston neighborhood, Biggie was driving all the fenced dogs crazy, because he was loose on the other side and wanted to play! With the help of a foster, we were able to get Biggie neutered and vetted, and adopted into a loving home! Biggie now is a beloved family member with a doodle brother and twin human siblings!
ADOPTED! Rio, a Carolina Dog, was abandoned in downtown Houston. A good samaritan fostered him because Rio was a good boy. A less known breed, Carolina dogs are very loved by their owners. He was adopted by a Carolina Dog lover. He now lives out of state and with another Carolina Dog!
ADOPTED! Jojo was basically a young feral dog. She eluded people and survived by getting into trash. Many people tried to secure her to no avail. She was humanely sedated and captured. See her capture here.
She was fostered by a wonderful family and it was a challenge. She was so terrified of humans for a long time. Slowly but surely, she began to trust her fosters. They fell in love with her and decided to adopt her! She now lives the good life with a small fur sister, Cici. See Her Now!
ADOPTED! Juno was found running stray in a high school parking lot with a pit bull. She was scared and hungry. Thanks to financial backing by fopaws rescue, she was fostered, spayed, vaccinated and adopted! She is living the good life - see her now!
The pittie was also adopted!
ADOPTED!Sam was abandoned in Houston. He was only a few months old! He was malnourished & underdeveloped. Thanks to financial backing by rescue, we found the perfect home for this boy. He's not little now!
ADOPTED! Alli & Gator were literally dumped like garbage in a trash bag off of a dirt road in NE Houston. Two of their siblings did not survive. Ali & Gator were trapped because they were practically feral. Thanks to amazing humans, they were vetted and transported to a rescue in Maryland, and quickly adopted!
ADOPTED! Pickles was tied to a tree in Houston when he was just a puppy! He was rescued, neutered & vaccinated.
Adopted! On November 1, 2021, Walter was taken to a vet to be euthanized because he was a sick & unwanted puppy. Walter's owner had already shot two of Walter's siblings before surrendering him to a vet for euthanasia. Walter had parvo and intestinal parasites. Guess who survived a jerk AND Parvo? Walter did! Walter is a super sweet boy and will be a larger dog.
Adopted! Chuck was running stray in a neighborhood during Houston's 2021 winter storm. He was terrified and would not come to anyone. He was also mean! This is how he got the name "Chuckie". If left to fend for himself, he would not survive due to birds of prey and coyotes - also the frigid temps. Thankfully, he was hungry! He was humanely trapped using food. He decompressed for a few days and eventually allowed human contact. At only 6 pounds, and heart-worm positive, he was lucky to be captured.
Chuck is now a velcro dog and is living the good life as a member of a 5-pack of rescues in an amazing home. He is dressed for all occasions and gets the best nutrition available.
Amazing Rescue! How does a tiny kitten end up at the top of a freeway flyover, hundreds of feet in the air and surrounded by freeway? This kitty was spotted by our Director as she was driving into Houston. The kitty was up against the wall, next to a drainage hole. The location was very dangerous and by the time it was realized that it was a tiny kitten (alive), it was too late to stop. Our director (and only volunteer) took the first exit and posted an urgent plea to several social media outlets. A few hours later, a man commented that he went out when he saw the post and was able to save the kitty, now named Mikka! Ah-mazing!
Adopted! Calypso was dumped in Crosby Texas, a typical dumping area for unwanted dogs. She was staying in a dirty shed in the Texas July heat. She was heart-worm positive, covered in ticks and injured.
She was rescued and was adopted by a loving family! She was treated for heart worms, spayed, vaccinated. Incidentally, when she was taken for her initial vet visit after being rescued, an employee at the vet clinic fell in love with her and the rest is history!
Adopted! Look at the change in this amazing rescue! We have been accused of bleaching this boy because he looks brown in the initial rescue photos. When he was first saved, we thought he had serious injuries because he wouldn't walk and had no interest in anything, but all his labs were normal. His illness was a broken spirit, he had given up on life. His paw pads had holes from either cig burns or burns from living on the hot, Texas concrete. A Great Pyrenees Rescue took him in after his initial vet exam, took him to the ER, found him a foster, and the foster adopted him!
Adopted! Of course we names her Duchess! She is a beautiful soul. She was abandoned in a NE Houston neighborhood in July 2021. Her feet were bloody and blistered from the hot concrete. She was at least 30 pounds underweight. She was emotionally broken. Thanks to financial backing by fopaws rescue, she was fostered, spayed, vaccinated and adopted! She now lives the good life!
Adopted! One morning a sweet dog (Michael) showed up in someone's yard. He did not want to leave! People came to say hello to Michael, but he would not leave! After neighbors reviewed their security cameras, they saw that a vehicle drove to their street at 3 AM, dumped Michael, drove away and Michael is seen on video chasing after the vehicle! Worse, the vehicle had to go to the end of the street & turn around. The security camera captured Michael in both directions, chasing the vehicle! He didn't want to leave because he was waiting for his owners to come back for him! They didn't...thank goodness! He was super sweet, but a spark was noticeably missing. All the signs were present that had been abused - but he was still a big hunk of love!
Michael captured many people's hearts when his sad story was posted to social media. One lucky family in Austin said he would be theirs! Michael made the trip to Austin and is now living the most amazing life! He was named after an Angel Warrior by his new family. The spark came back!
Adopted! Dexter (now Atilla), was the product of a pair of street dogs that were living by a dumpster at an apartment building. A vet reached out to us to see if we could help find homes for the babies. Well, we did, and Atilla is now living in Corpus with a wonderful family! Atilla's K-9 Mom & Dad were spayed/Neutered and now living with the vet who saved them!
Adopted! Lady, was the product of a pair of street dogs that were living by a dumpster at an apartment building. A vet reached out to us to see if we could help find homes for the babies. Well, we did, and Lady is now living with a family in Houston's Garden Oaks with 2 cats! She recently graduated from her training class! Lady's K-9 Mom & Dad were spayed/Neutered and now living with the vet who saved them!
Adopted! Haylee was living with elderly people who couldn't quite manage her, therefore, she was in a kennel 24/7. She was terrified of everything. She now has a new home with a look-alike dog sister.
Adopted! Tez was dumped in a neighborhood with a shotgun injury to his front foot. He was sponsored by a community rescue group (fopaws). Fosters and volunteers helped to give him a new life. He's now living his best life!
Adopted! Xena was roaming a neighborhood around the new year. She was terrified of fireworks. Fireworks are like the Armageddon for many dogs. She was not chipped and nobody ever came looking for her. She was fostered and adopted. She's is very loved now and is always protected when it's time for fireworks. Fopaws rescue and their volunteers made it possible for Xena's happy tail.
Medical Case: Zara was hurt with a broken femur. When we say broken, we mean completely severed! We were able to get Zara the medical attention she needed because her owner was unable to pay for the extremely expensive orthopedic surgery treatment. It was a long road of recovery, but she is fully healed and acting like a puppy again! We paid for her treatment from the first vet appointment to learn of the extent of the injury, surgery at Texas A&M and recovery follow ups.
Adopted! Abrams needed a new home because his family was moving out of the country. He was very loved and his family was worried that he might fall into the wrong hands. NOT THE CASE! I found an amazing home for Abrams. He now lives on a farm and loves his life!
Adopted! Sandi was stray and scared in NE Houston for a week during freezing weather. She was afraid to allow humans to help her. When she finally did - she had PARVO and nearly died. She is now living a wonderful life with a wonderful family. She was sponsored by fopaws and a whole community came together to get her well and adopted!
Adopted! Buddy is the bestest boy ever! He showed up in a neighborhood (like so many other dogs) and was heartworm +, not microchipped, was intact, and no ID tags. Fosters and volunteers helped to give Buddy a new life. He's now living his best life in the New Jerrsey snow and was treated for heartworms!
Adopted! Biscuit was abandoned in a neighborhood and showed up at someone's door with a look of desperation. After vetting her, she was adopted and now enjoys the beach life! Thanks to fopaws for being Biscuit's financial rescue organization.
Adopted! Luca was left outside of a rental home and her owners didn't think she needed shelter. They surrendered her. She was vetted, microchipped, spayed and adopted, thanks to rescue volunteers & fosters!
